About Us
For more than 32 years, Hope Shelter Inc. has provided a safe place for women experiencing homelessness to find stability, support, and a renewed sense of hope. Our work is centered on helping each resident move toward greater independence and a more secure future.
Webster defines hope as the act of expecting with confidence. The Hope Shelter Inc. is a place where everyone has a sense of expectancy. The expectation is that individuals will become empowered, move toward self-sufficiency, and eventually become mentors and sources of support for others.
Since opening its doors on January 8, 1994, the Hope Shelter has been committed to providing quality service. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the mission of The Hope Shelter is to provide safe shelter, food, support services, and an avenue to self-sufficiency.
The Hope Shelter addresses the basic needs of its residents in the most home-like setting possible as a means of reducing recidivism by providing the necessary tools, services, and support for residents to regain their independence, sense of pride and self-worth as contributing members of the community.
